Early-Morning Crash On Rural Roadway Kills One, Injures Two

CHP officers were dispatched to the scene at about 5:49 a.m. where one driver was killed and two injured.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA — A predawn traffic collision on Adobe Road east of Frates Road left one person dead and two others injured, according to the California Highway Patrol.

CHP officers were dispatched to the scene at about 5:49 a.m. on Friday.

Investigators are still investigating what led a gray Honda CR-V traveling eastbound to cross over the double yellow lines. CHP said the Honda sideswiped a westbound white Chevrolet Silverado before colliding head-on with a westbound black Toyota Camry on the rural stretch east of Petaluma.

The driver of the Honda CR-V was killed in the crash and pronounced dead at the scene.

The Silverado’s driver sustained minor injuries, while the Camry’s driver was transported to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital with major, but non-life-threatening, injuries.
