Earthquake Hits Napa, Marin, Neighboring Bay Area Counties
An earthquake struck at 3:22 p.m. Monday and was felt in many North Bay and East Bay communities. Did YOU feel it?

NORTH BAY, CA — An earthquake struck the San Pablo Bay at 3:22 p.m. Monday and was widely felt across the North Bay. The quake was a magnitude 3.6 and was centered about 6 miles east of Black Point-Green Point in Marin County. It was felt in Sonoma, Napa, Marin, Solano and Contra Costa counties, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
Initially reported as a 3.9-magnitude and then 3.7-magnitude, the quake hit at a depth of 7.5 miles, with its epicenter about 8 miles northwest of Hercules and 9.3 miles west-southwest of Vallejo, USGS officials said.
According to responses submitted to USGS, a strong jolt was experienced in Vallejo, Benicia, Berkeley, Novato, San Pablo, San Rafael, Napa, American Canyon, Pinole, Richmond, Sonoma, Greenbrae and elsewhere.

Folks in Rohnert Park reported feeling a "sharp snap."
Fairfax police were getting calls about a "short but sharp earthquake felt in Fairfax." Police asked residents to not call 911 as the department did not have further information.
