For the past 5 years, the HOUSE OF FLOYD has been performing the music of Pink Floyd, and has gained a strong following for their unique ability to enthuse both the hard-core fans of the early, adventurous Floyd, and those who enjoy the songs and soundscapes that later brought them widespread appeal.
Rather than simply recreating songs from the albums, HOUSE OF FLOYD resurrects Pink Floyd’s rarely heard original live concert arrangements. Unfamiliar to all but serious tapers and collectors, the vitality and expansiveness of these versions affords the opportunity for those who never saw Pink Floyd to “get” what made those shows so extraordinary. Those lucky enough to have seen Pink Floyd might close their eyes and think they’re back at Radio City Music Hall or Boston Garden, hearing music again that never made it to vinyl.
Adding to the immersive experience during an evening’s two long sets are all the sound effects, fog, haze, moving lights, and lasers that were mainstays of Floyd shows, plus the video projections – including many of the original, legendary backing films used by Pink Floyd.
