Crash Glass Mosaics Workshop

Using recycled sliding glass doors we’ll take mosaics to a new level. We’ll paint and embellish a wooden mirror, then adhere clear pieces of tempered glass onto it jigsaw puzzle style. During the second class you will learn a stress-free grouting technique for the glassed mirror. You will leave class with a beautiful finished piece. Appropriate for Beginners to Advanced.

Sunday's class will be from 12-3.

Instructor Lisa Jean de Soto was schooled in traditional mosaic art forms, I found myself limited by the tile colors available and sought a way to attain fluid colors that melted into each other. Whether creating one-of-a-kind wall art or a fabulous mosaic table, I’ve fallen in love with taking a hammer to discarded sliding glass doors to create clear, colorless “crash glass” tiles.
