Find out what's happening in Petalumafor free with the latest updates from Patch.

Join us for an incredible day using plants to dye cotton fabric. 100% of the plant material we’ll use in making the dyes will be foraged within a few blocks of Paul and Suzanne Mackey’s incredible permaculture city homestead located in Petaluma. You’ll leave the workshop with a beautiful cloth napkin dyed in luscious natural hues. We’ll intersperse dying with whipping up a batch of homemade ice cream to enjoy at the end of the workshop – bring your own foraged flavor to add (mint, blackberry, you name it). A fellow enthusiast of local fibershed awareness will share a bit about the opportunities for sourcing our clothing and craft fibers locally. You’ll come away stuffed and satiated with sweet treats and a headful of new fabric and fashion possibilities.
