Come down to the Petaluma Airport for a ceremony marking the 100th anniversary of the country's first airmail flight, accomplished in 1911 by Fred Wiseman.
There will be a reenactment of the flight takeoff at 12:30 p.m, but be sure to come early to hear Petaluma Pete play. Kids can also pick up a Petaluma Pete flyer (available at the Petaluma Museum) to enter a chance to win a free plane ride from Petaluma to Santa Rosa.
