About the artist
Born and raised in Michoacan, Mexico, Jesus Torres Martinez moved to the United States at a young age to study and pursue his love of art. A talented colorist, Jesus’ acrylic paintings are vibrant, bold and infused with the creative stylings of his Mexican roots and his passion for art. Jesus’ work examines the interplay between color and dreams. In addition to painting, Jesus is a master printer and his Linocut prints explore his inward journey through bold, surreal carvings. He brings his unique artistic vision to his craft, producing paintings, Linocuts prints, sculpture and jewelry. Jesus recently moved to the Bay Area from Los Angeles where he exhibited in various shows and galleries including his own studio, Toma Studio in downtown Los Angeles. This move has inspired his art and added to a new sense of serenity to his work. “My intention as an artist is to inspire the viewer with imagery that challenges the senses yet feeds the heart and soul.”
