We will use the marsh plant tule to make California Indian-style baskets, experimenting with various twined weaves to make patterns. These baskets are sometimes called “Indian paper bags” as they are very serviceable and quickly made. Charlie will show us a collection of twined baskets big and small that he has made using tule and rush. Bring kitchen scissors, small diagonal wire clippers (optional), and lunch.
