Expedition Island Launching Good Grades Incentive Program

B or higher students get free day to "monkey around"

, the recreational gym on the East Side where monkeying around is serious business, has launched an initiative aimed at motivating kids to do well in school.

Called "Good Grades for Good Times," it will give any kids who have a "B" average or better report card between now and January 30, a pass for one free admission to the gym.

The promotion is open to all kids in fourth to tenth grade who live in Sonoma or Marin counties and can be used on any of our "good grade days" that will be scheduled in the spring.

In addition, the school that has the most qualifying report cards turned in will receive a $500 cash donation towards PE or outdoor recreation programs at their school. It will also receive a free "lock down" all-night school party for any kids at the school who have B averages or better by the date of the party.

So while children may be slow about getting back into school-year routines, a free opportunity to monkey around at this awesome rec space should be some incentive.

"When kids are motivated, schools meet their benchmarks, and everyone works together, wonderful things can happen in our community," says Ian Inman, founder and owner of Expedition Island.
