Fatal Crash Reported Thursday Afternoon on Hwy 116 Near Petaluma

A fatal crash occurred late this morning on state Highway 116 outside of Petaluma, a California Highway Patrol officer said.

The two-car crash was reported around 11:45 a.m. on westbound Lakeville Highway, an alternate name for Highway 116 in the area, CHP Officer Eric Anderson said.

One person died in the crash, Anderson said. He did not immediately have any other details about the crash.

Westbound Lakeville Highway remained blocked as of 12:30 p.m. and there was no estimate for when it would reopen, Anderson said.
