Father Accused Of Murdering 13-Month-Old Son Dies At Hospital: PD
The Santa Rosa man was hospitalized after he and his infant son were found unconscious -- with signs nearby of recent drug use, police said.
SONOMA COUNTY, CA — A Santa Rosa man suspected of murder in the death of his 13-month-old son has also died, police said Tuesday. Officers found Patrick Oneill and his child unconscious Saturday, with signs nearby of recent drug use, Santa Rosa police Lt. Dan Marincik said.
The infant was pronounced deceased at the scene despite life-saving efforts by emergency medical personnel, while Oneill was rushed to a hospital for treatment of "life-threatening injuries," police said.
The Sonoma County Sheriff-Coroner’s Office identified the deceased 13-month-old child as Liam Richard Savoy-Oneill, of Santa Rosa.

Officers went to the 200 block of Darek Drive at about 12:50 p.m. Saturday after a woman reported finding Oneill and the child unresponsive, lying next to each other on the floor of a back bedroom. Narcotics and drug paraphernalia were nearby, Marincik said, without specifying what type of drugs.
Police said there were no signs of physical violence, but they believed Oneill's actions caused the baby boy's death.
