Fire West Of Petaluma Chars 5 Acres: Cal Fire

BREAKING: The vegetation fire was reported at 4:14 p.m. Thursday in the Two Rock area. Plumes of smoke were visible for miles.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA — A vegetation fire broke out Thursday afternoon in the Two Rock area west of Petaluma, charring 5 acres and generating plumes of smoke visible for miles. The fire was reported at 4:14 p.m. in the 200 block of Fallon Road, near Valley Ford Road and Tomales Road, a communications operator with the Cal Fire Sonoma-Lake-Napa unit told Patch.

Cal Fire sent aircraft and ground crews to the blaze.

The Wilmar Volunteer Fire Department was also dispatched.

As of 5:20 p.m., forward progress of the fire had been stopped and air resources were released from the scene, the operator said. Ground crews were still on scene, she said.
