Former Petaluma planning commissioner Ray Johnson died of cancer earlier this month, the Santa Rosa Press Democrat reports.
Johnson was 69.
He reportedly suffered from cancer for several years. His condition deteriorated over the last few months.

The New York-born Johnson worked as a Pacific Bell executive in San Francisco.
He was appointed to the planning commission in 2012 after an unsuccessful city council bid in 2010, according to the report. He was also considered for a council appointment in 2011.
