Former Petaluma Slaughterhouse Foreman Sentenced to Prison
He was the final defendant in a scheme that resulted in diseased meat being processed for human consumption.

PETALUMA, CA - The former kill floor foreman at Rancho Feeding Corporation in Petaluma has been sentenced to prison for his role in processing diseased cattle for human consumption. Felix Sandoval Cabrera will spend three months in prison, followed by two years of supervised release including three months of home confinement, and a $1,000 fine.
According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, Cabrera admitted that he directed other employees to carve “USDA Condemned” stamps out of carcasses showing signs of cancer. The diseased animals were then processed for transport, sale, and distribution.
Three other defendants have already pleaded guilty to their roles in the scheme.
