Get Vaccine, Get Free Admission To Sonoma County Summer Fun Fest

Those who receive a COVID-19 vaccine at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds during Summer Fun Fest will get free admission and a free ride ticket.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA — Members of the public who receive a coronavirus vaccine at the Jockey Club at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds will get free admission to Sonoma County's Summer Fun Fest and a free ride ticket.

Summer Fun Fest runs Wednesday, July 28, through Sunday, Aug. 8 — it is closed Monday and Tuesday, Aug. 2-3 — at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds, and will be a different version of the normal summer county fair.

The Summer Fun Fest has themed days and activities similar to the regular summer fair, including Barnyard Fun, Farmer’s Day, Rodeo, Jaripeo, monster trucks, and a destruction derby (some activities require special tickets to attend.)

There is limited capacity each day of Summer Fun Fest, and the fair will implement any masking or social distancing requirements mandated by the state of California or the Sonoma County health officer.

"COVID-19 and its variants are on the rise, including in Sonoma County, so we’re asking residents to use their face coverings at the Summer Fun Fest as protection against the virus," said Dr. Sundari Mase, Sonoma County health officer.

The Sonoma County Fairgrounds and the Sonoma County Medical Association are collaborating with the county’s vaccination efforts by providing free admission and a free ride ticket to members of the public who receive a COVID-19 vaccine during Summer Fun Fest.

Vaccination hours are 11 a.m.-6 p.m. during the Summer Fun Fest, Wednesday, July 28 – Sunday, Aug. 8; closed Monday and Tuesday, Aug. 2-3) at the Jockey Club, 1450 Bennett Valley Road in Santa Rosa.

The public can choose from either the Pfizer, Moderna, or Johnson & Johnson vaccines, and they are available to residents ages 12 and older. Walk-ins are welcome, but fairgoers can make an appointment at Myturn.ca.gov. Social Security, health insurance and citizenship proof are not required.

The public is encouraged to take advantage of this promotion. Normally, fair tickets are purchased for specific days, but the free admission and ride ticket obtained by receiving the vaccine can be used for any one day the festival is in operation.
