Helicopter Used to Search for Domestic Violence Suspect
The circling helicopter drew lots of calls from concerned residents

Announcement from Petaluma Police:
On Saturday evening, September 13, 2014, at about 7:30 pm officers were called back to the scene of a domestic violence incident reported earlier in the day when neighbors saw the suspect trying to get back into the apartment. When officers arrived the suspect had fled the scene. A perimeter was established and a search of the area was initiated. The ground search was aided by “Henry 1”, the helicopter from the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office. After about 45 minutes the suspect had not been located and the search was called off.
The search from the air generated a lot of phone calls to the Police Department and is the reason this release has been prepared. The victim has been relocated to a safe location and the suspect remains at large. The suspect does not pose a threat to the general public. The case remains under investigation and more information about the suspect will be released at a later time. No further details are available for release.
