Hidden Room Full Of Guns And Drugs Found In Sonoma County Man’s Home: Police

Police said they found rifles, suspect methamphetamine, fentanyl and more.

PETALUMA, CA — Officers searched the home of a Petaluma man earlier this month and discovered a hidden room containing guns and suspected drugs, police said.

Michael Maffei, 47, was arrested on March 11 after an early morning search of his Petaluma residence, police said.

After speaking with Maffei, officers said they searched his home and found a concealed room tucked away in the rafters of the residence.

Officers said they found a hidden stash, including six rifles, ammunition, firearm parts, drug paraphernalia, and suspected drugs, specifically methamphetamine and fentanyl in the room.

Given his felony status, Maffei was legally prohibited from possessing any firearms or ammunition, police said.

He was arrested and booked into the Sonoma County Jail, now facing charges related to the possession of narcotics and firearms, as well as violating his probation, police said.
