Hwy 101 Reopens After Collision Between Big-Rig and Construction Crew

The accident occurred near Petaluma Wednesday morning.

All lanes have reopened after a collision involving construction workers and a big-rig truck caused major injuries and closed the southbound U.S. Highway 101 in Petaluma this morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The accident was first reported at 1:16 a.m. near the Lakeville Highway off ramp, and all lanes were closed at 1:28 a.m., the CHP said.

A construction team was reportedly hoisting rebar that flew into the roadway and was hit by a passing big-rig truck, causing the resulting debris to injure the construction workers, according to the CHP.
