Judge Allows PG&E To Create $105M Fund For Wildfire Victims

NORTHERN CALIFORNIA — A bankruptcy judge is allowing PG&E to make $105 million available to victims of the Camp Fire and 2017 North Bay wildfires, officials with the San Francisco-based company said Wednesday. The money is meant to help people who were uninsured or need help with alternative living expenses or other urgent needs.

Company officials said the money will come from cash reserves and will not be passed on to
customers.

A third party will be selected to oversee the disbursement of the money.

Eligibility requirements have not been determined, but victims who are most in need will get priority, including people currently without adequate shelter.

The cost of the administrator's services and other fees will be capped at $5 million, so most of the money will go to survivors.
