Man Accused of Burglary, Arson At Petaluma Home

The 30 year old was arrested at his family's home on Colwood Avenue.

A Petaluma man was arrested Tuesday night on suspicion of burglary and attempted arson at his family’s home, a Petaluma police lieutenant said.

Christopher Philson, 30, was arrested around 8:40 p.m. at the Colwood Avenue residence, Lt. Dan Fish said. Philson, who is estranged from his family, allegedly entered the home when no one was there, disconnected a gas line to a stove and poured gasoline around the house, Fish said.

Philson’s brother called police when he arrived home, saw the front door was open and smelled gasoline, according to Fish.
