Man Arrested For Allegedly Assaulting Elderly Person In Petaluma
The victim was a resident of the Vintage Chateau Senior Apartments, police said.

A Petaluma man was arrested today on suspicion of physically assaulting an elderly resident at the Vintage Chateau Senior Apartments, police said.
A resident at the complex called police to report another tenant had been battered, authorities said.
Responding officers from the Petaluma Police Department said the elderly victim suffered “serious facial injuries” and was transported to a hospital.

The suspect, Samuel John Hanavan, 25, was described by police as the victim’s “cohabitant.”
Hanavan had left the apartment complex and was found near CVS Pharmacy in the Plaza North Shopping Center, police said.

He was arrested for suspected assault with great bodily injury, elder abuse and domestic violence, as well as a probation violation, and booked at Sonoma County Jail with total bail set at $200,000, police said.
