Night Time Paddle, Progressive Fest and Other Weekend Events

So many things to do, so little time!

Experience the tranquility of a night paddle on Tomales Bay this Friday with Clavey Paddlesports. Enjoy the magic of the bioluminescence, created by blooming dinoflagellates, a microscopic one cell organism, that make the water sparkle.

Listen to the chatter of herons and see seals, osprey, pelicans, jellyfish, bat rays and kingfishers. $90/$65 with own kayak.

On Saturday, get ready to party at , an art–based festival that celebrates the Petaluma River while raising much needed funds for the David Yearsley River Heritage Center.

This community festival includes over 100 musicians, an art boat flotilla, art boat drag races, aerial acts, artesian merchants, engaging nonprofit organizations, $5 weddings, local food vendors, theatrical performances, amazing children and teen activities. 

Then on Sunday, learn how to make beautiful, artistically sculpted outdoor benches and seats at a workshop at the Cavanagh Center. The benches are made of cob is an ancient earthen construction material made from clay, sand and straw.

Class will cover key techniques – foundation, materials, mixing and building – as well as having some serious fun getting muddy. Organized by Daily Acts. $95.

Also on Sunday, join Global Exchange and Code Pink co-founder Medea Benjamin, along with Will Durst, a political satirist and five-time Emmy nominee and Rep. Lynn Woolsey at the 15th annual . 1-5:30pm. Free.
