'A Night in Vienna' New Year's Eve Ball

December 31, 2017 8:30 pm–12:30 am Hermann Sons Hall, 860 Western Avenue, Petaluma www.skyhill.org

Petaluma is Having a Ball!

A festive New Year’s Eve Ball, ”A Night in Vienna,” will transport you to the bygone era of Old World grace, lively music, wine, and fine food. The December 31st ball is presented by Sky Hill Cultural Alliance in conjunction with the San Francisco Waltzing Society. A 19-piece orchestra will be conducted by the first violinist, just as Johann Strauss did! A sumptuous gourmet buffet will feature traditional Viennese dishes and desserts, with a no-host bar and complimentary champagne for a midnight toast. Festivities begin at 8:30 p.m. and run until 12:30 a.m. to accommodate those who attend the New Year’s Gala concert at the Petaluma Museum.

Suggested dress is white tie or black tie and ballgowns, but any dressy attire will be fine. For those without a dance partner, rest assured the Waltzing Society will make sure you enjoy as many spins around the room as you desire. If you are interested in learning the Viennese waltz in advance, take one or both of the two-hour waltz workshops offered on 12/20 and 12/27 from 2-4 p.m. (both Sundays); $15 per class at the door. Keep in mind, you needn’t dance to have a delightful evening . . . the food and music will provide more than adequate delight!
