No One Injured As Fire Does $150K In Damage To Petaluma Home: FD
Four people were displaced by the fire, which caused heavy amounts of smoke damage throughout the home in the 1200 block of Lindberg Lane.

PETALUMA, CA — No one was injured in a house fire Monday night that caused $150,000 in damage to a Petaluma home Monday night and displaced four people that were affected by the blaze, fire officials said.
The fire was reported just before 8:30 in the 1200 block of Lindberg Lane, where firefighters arrived to find large amounts of smoke and fire coming from a bedroom window. Petaluma firefighters were able to cut a hole in the home’s roof that allowed the heat from the fire and smoke to escape from the top of the house, fire officials said in a news release.
Although the fire was contained to one bedroom and one hallway, there was smoke damage throughout the home, officials said. No residents or pets were found inside the home at the time of the fire, which was quick extinguished after firefighters and ambulance crews arrived within five minutes of the call.

Investigators learned that one person was home at the time of the fire was alerted to the blaze by a smoke detector, which allowed that person to escape without injury. Fire investigators began work on the site Monday night and have not yet determined the cause of the fire.
Petaluma Battalion Chief Chad Costa said in the release that had it not been for the working smoke detector inside the house, the damage to the home could have been more substantial. All four people displaced by the fire told fire officials that they are able to stay with family.
