October 2017 Unemployment Rates For Petaluma, Sonoma County

In October 2017, Sonoma County saw a slight increase in the number of people unemployed, officials with California EDD reported.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA — Unemployment rates were below 4 percent in Sonoma and most other San Francisco Bay Area counties in October, officials with the California Employment Development Department said.

San Mateo County had the lowest rate at 2.5 percent followed by Marin County at 2.6 percent and San Francisco County at 2.7 percent, according to non-seasonally adjusted numbers released Friday by the EDD.

The rates were between 3 and 3.5 percent in Santa Clara, Sonoma, Napa, Alameda and Contra Costa counties.

Sonoma County's rate was 3.3 percent in October, a slight increase from 3.2 percent in September.

In Petaluma, the city's unemployment rate last month was 2.5 percent, which was on par with the rate in September.

Solano County had the highest unemployment rate for October in the Bay Area at 4.3 percent.

The unemployment rate was 4.9 percent statewide compared with 4.1 percent nationwide in October.
