Over 300 Acres Burn In North Bay

MARIN COUNTY, CA — Over 300 acres burned Sunday across several vegetation fires near the border of Marin and Sonoma counties, authorities said.

Crews responded to reports around 4:40 p.m. of a vegetation fire near Chileno Valley Road about four miles south of Tomales Road in the Chileno Valley area, according to the Marin County Fire Department.

Upon arrival, crews determined there were multiple spot fires, authorities said. Progress was stopped on one of the smaller fires within minutes, and by 7 p.m., progress was stopped on the two remaining vegetation fires as well, authorities said.

The fires burned about 340 acres combined, but no evacuation orders or warnings were issued, according to the department.

County, state and local agencies were involved in the response, and resources on the scene included 19 engines and several helicopters.
