Pair Accused In School Burglaries In Petaluma, Guerneville

Chromebooks and other items stolen from schools were found when deputies stopped a car for expired registration,. the sheriff's office said.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA —Deputies with the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office were working Tuesday to return Chromebooks, musical instruments, cameras and computer accessories to schools in Guerneville in Petaluma after recovering the stolen items in a traffic stop, the sheriff's office said.

Two transients, identified as Dylan Allain, 26, and Charlotte Warren, 28, were stopped for expired registration around 11 a.m. Tuesday in the 18000 block of state Highway 116 in Guerneville, sheriff's Spokeswoman Misti Wood said.

Upon determining Allain was on probation for a burglary case in Guerneville and Warren was out on bail from a burglary case in Guerneville, deputies did a probation search of the car.

The chromebooks, musical instruments, cameras and computer accessories were found in the car.

The sheriff's office alleges Allain and Warren stole the items during burglaries Oct. 19 of a school in the river area and late Monday, early Tuesday from a school in the Petaluma area.

Allain was booked into the Sonoma County jail on suspicion of six felony counts of burglary, receiving known stolen property, and conspiracy, Wood said.

Warren was being held on $22,500 bail after being booked on suspicion of felony burglary, felony receiving known stolen property, two felony counts of conspiracy, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, the sheriff's office said.
