Petaluma Chiropractor Accused Of Sexual Battery: Police

Steven Jette, 73, of Petaluma, was booked into Sonoma County jail Tuesday on suspicion of one count of sexual battery, police said.

PETALUMA, CA — A Petaluma chiropractor was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of sexual battery of a client, according to the Petaluma Police Department.

Police began a criminal investigation Jan. 8 into the sexual battery the previous day, Jan. 7, of a 27-year-old woman, Petaluma police Lt. Ed Crosby said.

"The suspect was identified as Steven Allen Jette, a Petaluma-based chiropractor from whom the victim had been receiving treatment," Crosby said in a news release.

Crosby said the investigation corroborated the victim's account, and Jette was arrested around 2:15 p.m. Tuesday in the 200 block of 4th Street in Petaluma.

Jette, a 73-year-old Petaluma man, was later booked at Sonoma County Jail.

He remained behind bars Tuesday evening in lieu of $30,000 bail.
