Petaluma City Vehicle Involved In Collision

Two drivers were taken to hospitals following the crash on Sonoma Mountain Parkway, according to police.

PETALUMA, CA — A city of Petaluma employee and another driver were taken to local hospitals following a traffic collision Tuesday on Sonoma Mountain Parkway, according to the Petaluma Police Department.

The crash happened sometime around 1:45 p.m. Tuesday, as police sent a Nixle alert advising traffic was delayed on Sonoma Mountain Parkway at Mauro Pietro Drive, near Corona Road.

According to police, a city of Petaluma work vehicle was stopped on Sonoma Mountain Parkway when it was rear-ended by another driver. Both drivers were taken to hospitals for observation, police said.

The incident affected traffic for about two hours as emergency personnel responded and the collision was investigated.

Sonoma Mountain Parkway was reopened to through traffic as of 3:58 p.m., police said in an update.
