Petaluma DUI Suspect Arrested After Reportedly Colliding With 4 Cars

A woman was arrested on suspicion of slamming into several cars and attempting to flee the scene, shedding clothing as she ran, police said.

PETALUMA, CA — A driver was arrested on suspicion of colliding with four vehicles before jumping out to flee the scene while under the influence. As fled on foot, she was shedding clothing, authorities said.

A witness driving westbound on Lakeville Highway said the crashes started around 9:30 p.m., the Petaluma Police Department said.

The series of crashes started with a collision, prompting the hit vehicle to pull over onto the shoulder near Browns Lane. The witness told police that the driver of the other vehicle crossed over yellow lines, passing the witness west on Lakeville before veering into a second Vehicle at Frates Road, according to a release from the department.

Then, the suspect driver reportedly slammed into a parked vehicle at South McDowell Boulevard and the a fourth vehicle parked on Casa Grande Road at South McDowell, the witness told police.

The witness said three people fled the suspect vehicle, including the driver, who was discarding clothing as she ran from the scene.

Police found the suspect on Filippini Way, near Crinella Drive, authorities said. The woman "appeared intoxicated and had sustained minor injuries from the traffic collisions."

In addition, police recovered three illegal narcotics in the vehicle, the release said.

Kaytlyn Kiley was booked into Petaluma Valley Hospital, according to police. She was arrested arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, hit and run and possession of a narcotic, authoriesi said.

Kiley was released on a citation to appear in court since she was admitted at the hospital, police said.
