Petaluma Gets Another Say On Putnam Plaza

PETALUMA, CA — Petaluma residents have another opportunity Saturday to help shape the future of Putnam Plaza as a grassroots group returns to the downtown public space for a second in-person feedback session.

Know Before You Grow is exploring ways to improve the plaza and wants to hear from people who use the space.

Know Before You Grow is a civic arm of the nonprofit Petaluma Urban Chat that hosts public discussions about development, housing, transportation, city finances, and climate policy.

Organizers are asking residents what works now, what does not, and what would make Putnam Plaza more welcoming. They also want to know what changes would make people spend more time there.

The feedback session runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Putnam Plaza, between Kentucky Street and Petaluma Boulevard.

Visitors can drop in during the four-hour session, see design inspiration, and share their thoughts.

Residents who cannot attend Saturday will have another opportunity to weigh in, according to the organization's announcement on Facebook. Online feedback is planned for September.
