Petaluma Leghorns 17 U Junior Legion Team earns a spot at the State Championship in Yountville.

The 17U Petaluma Leghorns advanced to the State Championship after a 2 and 2 run at the Area Tournament in Chico. To summarize the Leghorns run, they won the District tournament in a clean sweep over Napa, Davis Ukiah and then Davis in the championship game. In Chico, the Leghorns lost to Chico Blue, then beat Humbolt, Chico Red and lost to Auburn earning them an invitation to the State Championship as one of the top four Northern California Legion teams. Participating teams in the State Championship are San Juan Capistrano, Chico Blue, Santa Monica, Auburn Post, North Humbolt and your very own Petaluma Leghorns. The tournament starts Thursday August 4th at the Vets Stadium in Yountville, Ca.

The team is made up of players mostly from Casa Grande High School and includes players from Petaluma high and St Vincent’s High. There are a mix of freshman kids who are now sophomores and sophomore’ who are now juniors. See team Roster below.
