Petaluma police officers prevented the suspects from leaving the county with $15,000 in merchandise, the Santa Rosa Police Department said.
SONOMA COUNTY, CA — Petaluma police officers are credited with the apprehension Monday of two Vallejo men accused of assaulting the security guard of an upscale Santa Rosa clothing store and stealing $15,000 worth of merchandise from the retailer, the Santa Rosa Police Department said in a news release.
The SRPD dispatch center received a 911 call around 1:30 p.m. Monday that a robbery had just happened at Lululemon in the Montgomery Village Shopping Center, 911 Village Court, Santa Rosa police Sgt. Dave Marconi said.
Officers arrived at the scene within minutes to find that a security guard for Lululemon was assaulted during the robbery, Marconi said.

"Officers from the Petaluma Police Department spotted the vehicle driving southbound on U.S. 101 near Lakeville Highway as the suspects were attempting to flee the county," Marconi said.
The Petaluma officers stopped the suspect vehicle and took both men into custody without incident.
The suspects had 150 pieces of Lululemon merchandise in their car, all of which were recovered, Marconi said.
SRPD identified the suspects as 21-year-old Jarontae Armani Kentrell Madison and 22-year-old Latrell Lamont King, both residents of Vallejo.
Madison and King were booked into the Sonoma County Jail on suspicion of grand theft, robbery, conspiracy, possession of stolen property and assault with great bodily injury.
Both men remained in custody Wednesday morning with their bail set at $50,000 pending a court appearance Wednesday afternoon.
The security guard was taken to a local hospital for treatment of serious but not life-threatening injuries, Marconi said.
