Petaluma PD Impounds Corvette; Owner Accused Of Reckless Driving

Police said based on sideshow activity and illegal exhibition of speed, officers got a court order to impound the car for 30 days.

PETALUMA, CA — A Chevrolet Corvette was impounded Friday in Petaluma when a concerned community member called the Petaluma Police Department to report seeing the driver spinning doughnuts and driving recklessly through a residential area, police said.

The Petaluma Police Department Traffic Unit responded at 3:30 p.m. Friday to the area of Burlington Drive and Madison Street and found the Corvette parked on a nearby street.

Police said based on the sideshow activity and illegal exhibition of speed on a public roadway, officers got a court order and impounded the vehicle for 30 days.

"The Petaluma Police Department and our Sonoma County law enforcement partners are dedicated to combating street racing and sideshow activity," police said. "The Petaluma Police Department would like the thank the concerned community member for reporting this dangerous and reckless act."
