Petaluma Police Mourn Longtime K-9, Kilo

Petaluma PD thanked Kilo for his "years of service protecting our officers and the Petaluma community."

PETALUMA, CA — Retired Petaluma Police Department K-9 Kilo has died, the department announced in a social media post. Kilo, a Belgian Malanois, passed peacefully Wednesday with his partner and owner, former Petaluma police Officer Jason Jucutan, at his side.

Petaluma PD extended its condolences to Officer Jucutan, who now works as a Santa Rosa police officer, and thanked Kilo for his "years of service protecting our officers and the Petaluma community."

Petaluma was the first police department in the North Bay to begin using dogs in 1967 and currently has three canine teams.
