PETALUMA, CA — The Petaluma Police Department announced Friday that DEA Task Force Officer Mike Page was selected by the Sonoma County Law Enforcement Chief’s Association as the Exchange Club Police Officer of the Year for 2017. Page was honored Wednesday evening at the annual dinner hosted by the Exchange Club of Santa Rosa at the Flamingo Hotel.
Page has been assigned to the DEA Task Force for about three-and-a-half years and was nominated by Ryan Sibbald, DEA Task Force supervisor/resident agent-in-charge. Sibbald recognized Page for his many contributions in 2017, especially his hard work and investigation to take down a large international drug smuggling ring that involved the seizure of 569 pounds of methamphetamine, an airplane used to smuggle the drugs and more than $750,000 in assets, Petaluma police said in a statement Friday.

Page's efforts on the case also earned him the 2017 Enrique "Kiki" Camarena award from Petaluma Elk’s Lodge 901. The annual award is given to a local law enforcement officer who has significantly impacted drug trafficking in honor of Camarena, who was killed in the line of duty.
