Petaluma Probationer Found With Drugs In Car, Police Say
Police said David Haylett was parked in a commercial lot at 3:50 a.m., which appeared suspicious to officers.

PETALUMA, CA — Petaluma police made a drug-related arrest early Tuesday morning after investigating a suspicious vehicle parked in a commercial lot during non-business hours, a police sergeant with the Petaluma Police Department said. It was 3:50 a.m., Sgt. Lance Novello said, and the car was parked at 745 Baywood Drive, which is near the Petaluma Marina and Sheraton Petaluma.
Officers contacted the driver of the car, who was identified as David Haylett, 25, of Petaluma. Haylett was on probation, which allowed officers to search his car, Novello said.
The probation search yielded cocaine and methamphetamine "beyond that for personal use," Novello said.

Haylett also had Xanax that he did not have a prescription for, the sergeant alleged.
"Further evidence was located suggesting he possessed the substances for the purposes of illegal sales," Novello said.
