Petaluma United Real Wins Sonoma Halloween Classic

Petaluma United Real, the Under-14 boys team from Petaluma United Soccer Club, won the Sonoma Halloween Classic in convincing fashion this past weekend.

Petaluma United Real won all four games, outscoring opponents 20-4. The championship game Sunday afternoon matched Real against the Castro Valley Cosmos, with Real coming away with a 4-1 victory.

On a bright and sunny Sunday afternoon in Sonoma, Petaluma United Real took a 1-0 lead in the second minute of the game with quick goal by Nicholas Dooley, followed shortly thereafter with his second goal on an assist from Andre DeCarvalho. Juan Zanabriga Santana added a rebound goal on a goalie deflected shot from Erick Carren. Brandon Keefer finished off the scoring nearing the end of the first half. Castro Valley fought hard, and scored on a last minute goal in the second half.

The mid-field was powered by Nico Carballal, Benny Spaletta, Chris Aragon, Tino Siragusa and Edgar Garcia. The defensive side of the field was anchored by Andrew Ashley in goal, supported by Joseph Chavez, Matthew Rosa, Jack Reynolds, Duilio Magalhaes-Froes and Adam Griffin, who limited the opposition to four goals in four games, with two shut-outs for Andrew Ashley.

The team is coached by Brandon Hronec and Brian Keefer and is part of the Petaluma Youth Soccer Organization.
