Firefighters from the Rancho Adobe Fire District and Cotati Fire Department used a parking lot earlier this week at the Sonoma Mountain Village in Rohnert Park for training to become fire apparatus engineers - the firefighters who drive the fire fighting and support trucks.

The Firefighter Engineer Academy, which just started, lasts for nine months before firefighters are certified to drive firefighter trucks.
