Police, FBI Investigate Threat Against Casa Grande High School
Petaluma City Schools alerted the Petaluma Police Department and an investigation immediately began, authorities said.

PETALUMA, CA — The Petaluma Police Department together with the FBI launched an investigation Wednesday into a threat of violence to Casa Grande High School in Petaluma.

Information about the threat was received Wednesday afternoon by Petaluma City Schools. The threat of violence was specific to June 10 — graduation day — and focused on Casa Grande High School, PCS Superintendent Matthew Harris said in a letter to families.

Petaluma PD immediately began to work with Casa Grande High School staff and the FBI to determine the credibility of the threat and identify any potential suspects, Petaluma police Sgt. Ryan Suhrke said in a news release.
"The Petaluma Police Department takes all threats to the schools seriously and is working diligently to identify those responsible," Suhrke said. "We are actively working with school officials to maintain the safety and security of our students and campuses."

Police asked anyone with information regarding the investigation to contact Detective D. Boyd at 707-778-4334.
"To be clear, we have not received any threats related to any other schools or any other days," Superintendent Harris said. "Our graduating seniors deserve to celebrate such a significant accomplishment together on June 10, especially given all we’ve come through as a community over these past two years. It is a top priority for Petaluma City Schools that we are able to celebrate with a safe and successful end of the year and commencement ceremony. We remain alert, focused on the safety of our students and staff, and are confident we will come through this challenge safely, together as a community."
