Police K-9 Finds Meth In Dog Biscuit Boxes In Bay Area
A deputy and his K-9 partner also found meth in a cat litter box during a traffic stop in Petaluma.

PETALUMA, CA — A deputy discovered 10 pounds of methamphetamine hidden in dog biscuit boxes during a Bay Area traffic stop, thanks to his K-9 partner, authorities said.
The traffic stop happened around 10:45 a.m. Tuesday near Lakeville Highway and Baywood Drive in Petaluma, according to the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office.
During the traffic stop, the deputy learned the driver had a misdemeanor arrest warrant out of Mendocino County and was told there was a meth pipe in the vehicle, sheriff's Spokesperson Rob Dillion said.

The deputy had his K-9 partner sniff the vehicle, where the dog alerted to boxes of dog treats. Instead of dog biscuits, the boxes contained packages of meth, Dillion said. The deputy also found meth in a cat litter box.
The duo found a total of 10 one-pound packages of meth.

The driver, Angelina Gutierrez, 41, was arrested and booked into jail on suspicion of felony transportation of a controlled substance and her arrest warrant.
