Roads To Close In Petaluma For Annual Cruise, Car Show: Police

The 14th Annual Salute To American Graffiti Celebration is scheduled to take place from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. Saturday in downtown Petaluma.

PETALUMA, CA — Several downtown Petaluma roadways will be closed Saturday, May 18 to accommodate a special event. Cruising The Boulevard Inc.'s 14th Annual Salute To American Graffiti Celebration car show and cruise is scheduled to take place from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. Saturday, and street closures requested by the organization will be in effect from 5 a.m. until 8 p.m., the Petaluma Police Department advised in a news release.

Road closures will include:

— Water Street, American Alley, Telephone Alley and the A Street Parking Lot;

— Petaluma Boulevard North (between D St and Washington Street);

—The No. 2 eastbound lane of Washington Street (between Keller Street and Petaluma Boulevard North);

— Western Avenue (between Petaluma Boulevard North and Keller Street);

— 4th Street /Kentucky Street (between B Street and Washington Street); and

— B Street (between 2nd Street and 4th Street).

Additionally, eastbound and westbound traffic on D Street will be condensed to one lane in each direction beginning at 4 p.m. for the actual cruise portion of the event.

"The Police Department will be working this event to reasonably accommodate any traffic-related issues," said Petaluma police Sgt. Jeremy Walsh. "The Petaluma Police Department appreciates the public’s patience and understanding, and requests those who cannot avoid the area to allow plenty of time for travel."
