Triple Shooting Along Hwy 116 Was Marijuana-Related, Sheriff's Office Confirms

BREAKING: A 36-year-old man from Sebastopol died in the Saturday night gunfire. Two others, a man and woman, were wounded.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA – Sonoma County sheriff's officials said this morning that investigators believe marijuana sales were involved in a shooting that killed one man and wounded two other people south of Sebastopol on Saturday night.

Violent crimes investigators do not know if money or marijuana was taken from the residence in the 5000 block of state Highway 116, but there is evidence to suggest the case will involve the sale of marijuana, according to the sheriff's office.

Nathan Proto, 36, of Sebastopol, was identified as the victim of the fatal shooting, which was reported around 8:15 p.m. Saturday.
