Sonoma State University: CSU Chancellor Learns What It Means To Be A Seawolf

CSU Chancellor Joseph I. Castro visited Sonoma State University last Wednesday to connect with the Seawolf community and explore the one-of-a-kind beauty of our campus. It was also SSU Spirit Day and Sonoma State pride was on display. T-shirts, hats, sweaters all stamped with SSU branding filled the Student Center as Chancellor Castro spoke with students, learning more in each conversation about what makes being a Seawolf so special. The chancellor was treated to a campus tour to marvel at the university's landmarks, including the Wine Business Institute and the Green Music Center. And he ended the day at an all campus open forum conducted by Provost Karen Moranski, during which he answered a range of questions on his plans and goals for the CSU, his personal journey to the role, and his impressions of Sonoma State. During the forum's opening, he reflected on his time as president of Fresno State University, telling the audience in Ballroom B that he often misses the energy and vibrancy of a college campus.

"But today, you filled my glass, so thank you," he said.
