Spring Is On The Way: North Bay Photo Of The Day

Where in the North Bay do you think this photo was taken?

PETALUMA, CA — Patch reader Karen Pettit took this beautiful photo at Aztec Dahlias, a farm on E. Washington Avenue in Petaluma where 400 varieties of the flower are grown.

Thanks so much for sharing, Karen! What a lovely visual as we await spring's arrival in the North Bay ...

Fun Fact

"Andreas Dahl (after whom the plant is named) regarded it as a vegetable rather than a garden flower, but interest switched from the edible tubers to the blooms when the first varieties with large, double flowers were bred in Belgium in 1815," according to Theflowerexpert.com.
