Suspect Steals Starbucks Tip Jar: Petaluma Police

BREAKING: Police say the alleged thief waited for the right opportunity to take the tip jar off the counter of the coffee shop.

PETALUMA, CA -- A man is suspected of stealing a tip jar from a Petaluma Starbucks and police are hoping that by releasing a surveillance image, members of the public can help identify him. The alleged theft happened at 11:17 a.m. Aug. 16 at the Starbucks located at 701 Sonoma Mountain Parkway, according to Petaluma police Cpl. Paul Accornero.

"Surveillance video shows a male subject entered Starbucks and appears to have waited for an opportunity to take the tip jar off the counter next to the register then fled on foot," Accornero said in a news release.

The suspect is described as Latino man in his late teens or early 2os. He was wearing a gray-and-white beanie hat, a dark-colored hooded jacket, a white T-shirt, gray shorts and socks with sandals.
