Suspect In Utah Killing Arrested In North Bay
Detectives found Joseph Huntsman, 24, hiding out in a makeshift campsite near Santa Rosa Creek.

SANTA ROSA, CA — The suspect in a Utah homicide was arrested Wednesday in a makeshift Santa Rosa campsite, police said.
Detectives got word Tuesday that a man wanted in connection with a July 3 killing in St. George, Utah was possibly in the Santa Rosa area, according to Lt. Dan Marincik of the Santa Rosa Police Department.
Santa Rosa detectives were told 24-year-old Joseph Anthony Huntsman is suspected of fatally shooting the victim with a handgun.

"Detectives diligently followed up on the information they received and were able to locate the vehicle that the suspect had driven in the area of Dutton Avenue and Sebastopol Road," Marincik said.
Wednesday as detectives were looking for Huntsman in the area of 6th and Pierson streets — near Santa Rosa Creek — they saw him in a makeshift campsite.

Detectives requested the assistance of officers, who approached Huntsman and took him into custody.
"A loaded handgun was located inside of the backpack that the suspect had on him," Marincik said.
Huntsman was booked into the Sonoma County jail on the warrant from Utah. He remained in custody Friday, awaiting extradition back to that state.
