Teen Arrested For Vandalism: Police

Petaluma Police say that a witness reported the suspect vandalizing public property.

PETALUMA, CA — An 18-year-old Cloverdale man was arrested on suspicion of several acts of vandalism around Petaluma after he was seen spraying graffiti near a bus stop Sunday, police said.

Officers responded at 10:41 a.m. Sunday to the 700 block of North McDowell Boulevard, where someone reported witnessing a person spraying graffiti on a sound barrier near a bus stop, Petaluma police said.

The officers arrived and found the 18-year-old suspect trying to flee on a bus. They detained him and found the spray paint and marker allegedly used in the vandalism and took him into custody.

He also allegedly admitted to about six other cases of vandalism throughout the city, according to police.

The 18-year-old was booked into Sonoma County Jail on suspicion of several counts of felony vandalism.
