West Side Stories is Back!

Five minutes. True stories. Live on stage.

Stories are a way we make sense of the world, a way to put things into perspective, to laugh, cry and feel connected to others.

This Wednesday, a great story telling event is back at the , and organizers want you to get involved or maybe just come out and listen.

West Sides Stories was launched by comedian and local performer Dave Pokorny in 2010 and since then has turned into a regular event at the downtown gallery and frame shop.

Here's how the event works. You pay $5 at the door and if you feel like telling a story, put your name in a hat. Ten or so folks are invited up on stage if their names are drawn. At the end, a final name is pulled from the hat and that person judges who had the best five-minute story. This week's theme is Heroes.

Everyone has a story to share. What are you waiting for?
