What's Up For This Weekend?

Although it’s in Santa Rosa, the Just Between Friends consignment sale is not to be missed if you have children or are expecting a baby. The three-day mega event at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds features everything from children's clothing, toys, furniture, school materials to maternity wear and more. Expect to find great deals up to 75 percent off store prices. Starts Friday, April 13.

Then on Saturday, the Petaluma Historical Museum wraps up its Roma exhibit with a Balkan Mini-Festival featuring a performance by Bay area brass band, Inspector Gadje. (Psst, they are really good.) Nibble on authentic Balkan Romani food and catch the informative exhibit about the experience and contributions of the Romani (gypsy) people. 12:30-3pm. $10

Later that day, head to the Turning Basin for an informal Standup Paddle “happy hour” on the Petaluma River starting 5:30pm. This is not a class and prior experience with Standup Paddle Boards is required. Group will paddle to the Sheraton for margaritas and tacos. $10/$30 if you need to rent a paddleboard.

On Sunday, roll up your sleeves and head to neighboring Novato for a volunteer day at Olompali State Historic Park. From 9am to 1pm, volunteers will prune the orchard and paint the blacksmith house at the historic park. No experience needed and all ages are welcome! 

Everything is provided, included snacks, water and gloves, but volunteers are encouraged to bring their favorite pair of work gloves and registration is required.
